AIGA Charlotte today announced the launch of the graphic design organizations new website, www.aigacharlotte.org.
The site, designed by carbonhouse, inc. of Charlotte, offers a number of useful features for graphic designers, the business community and the general public. Some of the features include interactive calendaring; online ticketing for events; a membership application form; design resources; and detailed information on design-related activities throughout Charlotte.
"Were excited about how the new website will benefit this community and add real efficiencies to our organization," said AIGA Charlotte president Patrick Short. "The site sets the stage for us to add significant value to our membership. It also provides us with yet another tool to communicate and collaborate with our rapidly growing membership base."
In addition to the sites robust functionality, the design is scalable, user-friendly and intended to drive the AIGA Charlotte brand. To accomplish these objectives, AIGA selected local branding and design firm carbonhouse to construct the site.
"This project posed a series of unique design challenges," said carbonhouse Principal/Creative Director James Sack. "First, we were 'designing for designers, which raised the bar as far as visual and creative expectations are concerned. Second, we were charged with making the site an effective business tool for the organization, while showcasing the breadth and depth of design-related events this community has to offer."
Bob Finigan, AIGA Charlotte Vice President and Creative Director for Muzak, said he is also pleased with carbonhouses efforts. "We chose carbonhouse on the strength of their reputation," Finigan said. "It turned out to be a great decision, because we've been very satisfied with their professionalism and incredible creativity. We look forward to our ongoing relationship."
