Dubai's BurJuman mall hosts "Brides of the World" exhibition, showcasing hauter couture bridalwear fromworld renowned designers

DUBAI: BurJuman Centre shopping mall will host a colourful week-long exhibition showcasing haute couture bridalwear from internationally renowned designers from around the world, offering connoisseurs of fashion the opportunity to get a first-hand insight into the fascinating world of wedding attire.
Brides of the World", the unique event that will be held at BurJuman from January 25 to 31, will also feature two international fashion shows, where top models will present the popular and latest collections of exotic bridalwear from some of the most talented designers in Asia, Middle East and Europe. The first fashion show will be held on the opening day of the exhibition on January 25 and the second will follow the next day at the same time.
In addition to bridalwear, the show will also include a range of specialist wedding accessories, including designer bags, footwear and fragrances. The exhibition is part of the exciting line-up of events to celebrate Dubai Shopping Festival at BurJuman, a key sponsor of DSF 2003.
Addressing a press conference on January 23 to announce the exhibition, Sabina Khandwani, Head of Research and Marketing at BurJuman, said: As the premier fashion destination in the region, BurJuman is proud to host this international fashion event showcasing contemporary trends in bridal fashions and the creations of world renowned designers of haute couture bridalwear. The Brides of the World" exhibition will present discerning customers and the fashion conscious bride the opportunity to obtain a first-hand insight into the fascinating world of bridal couture".
She added: More than 75 percent of the retail stores at BurJuman offer fashion brands and accessories, and this innovative event will further enhance the profile of the mall as an exciting fashion destination. The show will also blend well with the international outlook of Dubai Shopping Festival and appeal to the malls key audience – families from different nationalities. Brides of the World" will offer a once-in-a-lifetime experience for visitors to the mall and the perfect preamble for every bride-to-be".
The exhibition will bring together an array of top designers and fashion labels including Satya Paul, Meera and Muzaffar Ali, Rinaldi , ECCHO by Sona and Mona, Neeta Bhargava, Yashovardhan Zaveri of Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri (Delhi), AS WOMEN by Suminder Singh and Gimmicks by Pradeep Hirani (Asia), Renato Balestra ( Rome, Europe), Claires Collection, Deborah Skella and Clea Colet (North America) and Waleed Attalah (Middle East). The fashion shows will be under the direction of a veteran duo of choreographers from India, Asha Kocchar and Vidyun Singh.
During the exhibition, design houses will offer consultancy services and tips on bridal fashion to visitors. The design houses from Asia will be located at the exhibition hall near the main entrance of BurJuman while those from the Middle East, Europe and North America will set up their studios on Level 2 of the mall, near JC Penny.
The show is being organized through leading Dubai-based events management company First Event and is sponsored by a number of local and international companies including Alitalia, Make Up Forever, The New Store, Impression Décor and Sulis.
Rachna Chadha, Vice President of First Event, said: Brides of the World" will be a platform for traditional dreams to mix with modern fantasies. The essence and mystique of marriages, complete with its glitter and pageantry will be recreated at this event. This show will help bring the bridal collections of leading designers from the East and West to this cosmopolitan city of Dubai, where there is a growing market for designer wedding gowns".
