Adams aims to protect consumers from potentially damaging products.

Adams launches First, Do No Harm" campaign.

Portersville, PA – January 3, 2003 – Light clips, hooks and other holiday accessory products are supposed to make decorating for the holidays a little less stressful, and a lot more enjoyable. Adams Manufacturing has discovered through extensive testing that some products have the potential to damage interior and exterior surfaces, and Adams is presenting their findings in a First, Do No Harm " promotional campaign launched in December, 2002.

Adams Manufacturing is the largest USA-made supplier of hooks, fasteners and clips used in holiday decorating, and is the worlds largest manufacturer of suction cups. During new product development, Adams performs thorough quality testing, anticipating and then simulating potentially damaging scenarios in order to prevent unnecessary damage or expense to the homeowner. Bill Adams, the President and founder of Adams Manufacturing, takes a key role in this quality testing, often suggesting testing procedures and directly working with designers to make Adams products as safe as possible. We take a hard look at what happens when a consumer installs one of our products." Bill Adams explains. We not only want a product that works well, we want a product that protects the consumer and their property. Over the years, weve taken a cue from the Physicians Oath, and adopted the phrase First, Do No Harm" as the philosophy behind everything we do."

One dramatic example used in Adams recently launched First, Do No Harm" campaign focuses on thick over-door wreath hooks, and how they can potentially gouge wood or scratch painted doors and doorjambs. Other examples used in the campaign present evidence of even more costly damage to vinyl siding or roof shingles that could occur with the use of poorly designed siding clips and roof clips currently on the market.

It was shocking," Bill Adams adds, when we discovered that other companies in our industry were not concerned with the possibility of damage. We felt we had to set ourselves apart and get the message across that protecting customers is our top priority. In my experience, this type of detailed quality control information hasnt always been presented to retail buyers. Its important to them because theyre the ones facing unnecessary returns, and possibly even negative consumer response associated with their store. Retailers need to know that Adams provides the safest products, and they need a way to communicate this to their customers."
The First, Do No Harm" campaign began with the current Adams 2003 Christmas catalog, and the theme will be carried through direct mail promotional pieces, store signage, point of purchase displays and package graphics. Adams will continue the campaign for their other product lines, which include everyday hooks and fasteners, lawn and garden accessories and the complete line of Quik-Fold® Furniture.

The Adams Christmas accessory line includes All-Purpose light clips, a variety of wreath hangers, candle holders, and suction cups, plus other indoor and outdoor fasteners such as light stakes, garland ties, and safety stocking hangers. Adams products can be found in most stores where Christmas lights are sold.
