AUSTIN, TX (PRWEB) October 1, 2003 -- September 29, 2003 -- Traq-wireless announced today that it has won an award, for leading-edge technology that delivers significant and measurable business value to end-user organizations, from IDGs Computerworld, the Voice of IT Management. This honor is part of Computerworlds second annual Innovative Technology Awards, which was published in the September 22 issue and online at Computerworld.com.
In order to be considered for the awards program, vendors had to be nominated by IT end users that do not produce or sell technology. Nominees were surveyed regarding their use of technology innovations in June 2003. A panel of outside experts and Computerworld editors then reviewed the surveys and chose 30 winners in 10 categories, including data management, mobile/wireless, security and web site management.
Were very proud to be the recipient of an award that recognizes technology innovation that delivers a substantial return on investment (ROI)," said Jim Offerdahl, CEO, Traq-wireless. Our focus is to continue to drive wireless management innovation that fulfills the evolving needs of our rapidly growing enterprise customer base and continue to be the engine for dramatic reductions in the total cost of ownership (TCO) of mobile communications."
Traqs patented mobile communications management solution eliminates the complexity and significantly reduces the cost of managing wireless users, usage, devices and carriers. Traqs software organizes, analyzes and optimizes users to the correct carrier rate plans, simplifies administration, flags spending trends, tracks usage by device and integrates personnel/asset directories in one comprehensive solution, resulting in direct savings of up to 40% off a companys existing wireless spend. Traqs solution is increasingly being adopted by companies wanting to take advantage of wireless local number portability (WLNP) being implemented by wireless carriers at the end of November.
This years awards are evidence that innovation is alive and well in the IT industry," said Maryfran Johnson, editor in chief of Computerworld. However, technology end users have made it plain that innovation must move toward a greater goal: to support larger business needs and deliver measurable value. Our editors and our readers believe that this years winners have achieved that goal."
Other companies earning the Innovative Technology Awards honor from Computerworld include Brocade Communication Systems, Hewlett-Packard and IBM.
