About Mathew Drake
==================
Matthew Drake is a 15-year-old teenager that has achondroplasia (dwarfism). When Matthew was born, his parents were told that he was going to be like the people you see at the circus"! Achondroplasia causes the long bones of the body to be shortened so that the upper arms and legs are disproportionate in length. The bones of the lower arms and legs are also disproportionate and they grow to different lengths so that bowing is often present, sometimes so severe that a basketball can be thrown between an individuals legs. The Mathew Drake Foundation was formed to raise funds to provide much needed limb-lengthening surgery for Mathew. For more information contact Pam Drake at (604) 941-8927.
