Video Helps Citizens Prepare For Disaster
MEDFORD- OR: The majority of Americans do not have a disaster kit or a family emergency plan, according to a recent study by the American Red Cross. When a disaster strikes, emergency services may be stretched to their limit, leaving citizens to fend for themselves. Yet many people remain unprepared for even the most minor emergencies.
(PRWEB) October 2, 2003 -- Condition Red: Prepared For Disaster is a wake-up call for families and individuals who currently have no plan for how they will deal with a disaster in their immediate surroundings. The video covers disasters caused by humans as well as natural disasters and teaches families to sit down together and make a plan.
Executive producer Tom Monson wants to show citizens how they can help themselves in the event of a disaster. This video helps community leaders empower citizens to help themselves instead of being totally reliant on the government and emergency services." Monson points out, It is easier than people think. Something as simple as picking up a few extra bandages or batteries for their disaster kit while grocery shopping can go a long way in surviving the effects of a disaster. The more we do now to prepare for these types of situations, the more confidently we will handle them when they do occur."
