The 90-second module, available free to broadcast networks and individual radio stations in exchange for airplay, runs five days per week, totaling 250 shows per year.
"This is truly an All-American health show, since our first-person stories really reflect current demographics," said Christopher Springmann, executive producer. We're finding interesting and important health stories in every aspect of Americas eclectic daily life."
A typical week's lineup includes a gamut of health topics: tattoo removal; HIV/AIDS; dental pain; obesity and diabetes; breast and prostate cancers; smoking cessation; health literacy; child safety seats; and healthcare disparities. Each show features a distinctive music bed, thematically related to the topic, to pull listeners in while maintaining energy and interest.
Health Rhythms is spiced with interviews with Americans of all ages, genders, ethnici-ties and cultures. "Our goal is to 'grab' people in the first few seconds with engaging mu-sic and a provocative idea, then deliver informative, actionable health insights," says Springmann.
Health Rhythms aims to motivate diverse radio audiences to maximize their health potential; promote candid exchanges with healthcare providers, and provide a voice to those most impacted by healthcare disparities. It links the interests of a healthy workforce to those of a healthy business community.
Health Rhythms is underwritten through a strategic media partnership with The Califor-nia Wellness Foundation (TCWF). Founded in 1992 as an independent foundation, TCWF's mission is to improve the health of the people of California by making grants for health promotion, wellness education and disease prevention programs.
