Tustin, CA (PRWEB) October 3, 2003
More people online choose health-related webcasts than any other major category, according to a usage survey conducted by Webcast Wire, the webcast directory and notification service (http://www.webcastwire.com).
More than 20 percent of online audiences seeking webcast content attend health-related webcasts, such as preventative care education and medical procedures. Financial webcasts, including quarterly earnings announcements, and travel & tourism webcasts were next with 17 percent each.
Other webcast categories on the list include press events (13 percent), technology & science (12 percent) and video press releases (7 percent). The survey was based on click-through data from more than 2,600 Webcast Wire visitors over a six-week period. Webcast Wire focuses on enterprise-level webcasts and does not track Internet radio usage.
ÂWebcasting is the only broadcast medium over which enterprises have 100% control, said Linda Zimmer, CEO of Webcast Wire. ÂThose organizations using webcasting for their corporate communications initiatives are both augmenting and bypassing traditional broadcast channels and creating valuable programming for their customers, investors, and for the media.
ÂAs webcasting continues to grow, Webcast Wire provides them a tool for announcing their programs and for audiences to find quality information, Zimmer said.
Complete survey results and analysis will be published shortly on Webcast WireÂs ÂWebcasters Almanac (http://www.webcastersalmanac.com).
Webcast Wire is the only global online searchable directory and notification service for webcasts. Webcast Wire currently has more than 2,500 listed webcasts covering multiple industries and topics, and it is growing daily.
The ÂWebcasters Almanac is available for those who want to learn more about webcasting and track the latest news, trends and statistics.
Posting webcasts and subscribing for notification is free. Organizations can list descriptions, provide relevant keywords for searches, and control how long their events are listed in the database.
Visitors access the siteÂs webcast database through a keyword or category search. If they subscribe, they will receive e-mail notifications about webcasts, as they are posted, that match their specific interests.
