Support our Troops Program Started with Family Readiness Group

Andrew LaPointe, co-owner of Traverse Bay Farms, has recently partnered with the Alpha Co 3-66 Armor Family Readiness Group. The Family Readiness Group includes the wives and families of soldiers assigned to this unit. The group provides support to the families left behind as well as all of the single and married soldiers that are deployed. The group creates care packages, fundraisers and welcome home parties.

Since 1991, Mr. LaPointe has created several troop support campaigns. In 1991 and 1995 he created several letter writing and donation campaigns to support our men and women deployed overseas. The most popular support campaign started by Mr. LaPointe has always been the artwork created by the students of elementary, middle and high schools. Since our soldiers are securing the future for our children, the artwork has always been well received.", Mr. LaPointe said.

In addition to the artwork here is a brief list of items that would be greatly appreciated:

Food items:

Instant coffee, powered gatorade, presweetened Kool-Aid, presweetened tea, Slim Jims, Little Debbie snack cakes, dried fruit and canned soup.

Practical items:
