ABAS at Systems 2003: Hall 1, Stand 336
In Hall1, Stand 336 ABAS will, jointly with the sales partners, present news items relating to the abas Business Software (ERP, PPC, MRP, eBusiness). On top of extensions to the functional range of the software, ABAS will show the Linux-Client in operation in order to demonstrate how customer relations can be easily managed using the ABAS client information system. A further highlight for trade fair visitors are the varied ERP applications for which the implementation is quick and simple.
NEW: abas Customer Infosystem: CRM in abas ERP"
The abas Business Software Infosystems form a customized navigation platform which allow the efficient transaction of business processes including the associated analyses. Multiple possibilities to link dialog screens and analyses permit quick and activity related processing. The abas Customer Infosystem simplifies the interaction with customers. Using the infosystem, e-mails can be sent and Homepage-URLs can be called up from within abas ERP. A further process configures new sales transactions, customers, projects and activities. In the client infosystem all sales related infosystems, for example outstanding quotations, framework commitments or outgoing invoice lists are included. The customer or alternatively, the invoice recipient, will be transferred to the sales related infosystems as the default setting.

Software with Linux
With Linux the client can score points especially under cost- and safety aspects. Alongside Windows and Unix ABAS supports Linux since 1995 in server operations. The Open Source Operating System convinces, both, on the server and the client side through excellent performance and stability. A mixed operation with Windows- and Linux Clients is possible. Alongside the LinuxClient , the connection of Open Office to the abas Business Software will be demonstrated at Systems.

ABAS are to raffle off four of the 1 meter high Linux mascot Tux and 20 penguin keyrings. The raffle will take place on Tuesday , 10.22 and Wednesday , 10.23.2003 , at 1400 and 1700 respectively, at the abas Stand (Hall 1, Stand 336).
Functions extended and improved
A multitude of development advances in separate functional areas have taken place. The version 2003 of the abas Business Software presents itself with improvements in scheduling, production, materials management, capacity planning, cost- and price calculation, and eBusiness. Also expanded were cost accounting and the Corridor Controlling, which supports a focused, results-oriented corporate management.
ERP Webinterface in Practice
abas eB, the eBusiness component of the abas Business Software, has been extended by various components for the implementation and support of the software. abas ERP data can be displayed on the web using the abas ERP Web Interface (EWI).
Via the browser interface customers, suppliers and employees have controlled access to abas ERP data. Using for example EWI, an easily supported webshop is quickly installed. Orders are automatically processed by abas ERP. The shop uses the price finding integrated in abas ERP. The catalog is centrally supported and controlled by the ERP system. A sales order tracing with ERP web interface is also possible. With EWI clients are able to inspect the processing status of their orders. The in EWI integrated external order recording simplifies operational processes and supports therefore an effective corporate organisation.
Comprehensive Service Portfolio
Further emphasis is focused on the optimization of operational processes and company organization, an increase in the degree of utilization of an ERP system, as well as on an efficient and cost optimal ERP introduction. The efficiency of the ERP system in combination with a target-oriented introduction management, and a system oriented organiztional environment results in a high qualitative and quantitative added value for abas customers.
