Brookfield, OH (PRWEB) October 6, 2003 -- Zerco Systems International, Inc., a developer and integrator of optical memory card technology and biometric-based identification and data storage solutions, announced it teamed with Information Spectrum Inc. (ISI), a company of Anteon International Corporation (NYSE: ANT), in connection with a Request For Quotation (RFQ) it received from the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) to bid on 1,000 optical stripe read/write drives and biometrics verification systems.

Zerco added that it entered a prime subcontractor agreement with ISI in connection with the INS initiative to identify persons entering the United States along the southern borders.

The RFQ Solicitation (number COW-3-R-0039) from INS, which operates within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, is a southern border terminal contract, which is within the scope of the nation's comprehensive U.S. Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator Technology program (U.S. VISIT). Through U.S. VISIT the country plans to secure all points of entry, including airports, borders, seaports and other sensitive locations.

John Soltesz, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said, "Zerco is proud to have been chosen to receive the RFQ from INS in connection with its critically important mission of securing the nation's borders. Furthermore, that Anteons ISI company has signed an exclusive teaming agreement with Zerco for this and related activities, confirms that Zerco's patented technology is important at this time as America actively secures its borders and other key points of entry following the events of September 11, 2001."

The ease of operation of Zerco terminals and their ability to read a multiplicity of identification systems, ranging from fingerprints and optical cards to magnetic stripes, bar codes, signature verification and smart cards, places the Company in a strong position to receive important government contracts relating to security."

Zerco's patented technology and the ease of operation and ability to read the optical memory cards used for INS new Permanent Resident Cards (Green Cards," of which 20 million in circulation) and Department of State (DOS) LaserVisa" Border Crossing Cards (approximately 7 million in circulation), and other identification, places the Company in a strategic position for contract consideration on homeland security initiatives. The core of Zerco's technology is its multi-media, small "footprint" stand-alone and fully integrated ZSI-2002 Biometric Verification System (BVS) terminal. The BVS terminal couples with Zerco's patented data encryption algorithm and customized software applications, enables the user to read data stored on an optical memory card and confirm the identity of the persons using biometric identification.

ISI, with headquarters in Annandale, Virginia, is a recognized leader in the areas of credential card technologies, military logistics and training systems. The company is the prime contractor for secure identification and access management solutions for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Permanent Resident Card and the U.S. Department of State's Border Crossing Card programs. ISI also provides mission critical logistics, training and engineering solutions for the U.S. Naval Air Systems Command.

Anteon, headquartered in Fairfax, Virginia, is a leading information technology and engineering solutions company providing support to the federal government and international sectors. The Company has designed, integrated, maintained and upgraded state-of-the-art systems for national defense, intelligence, emergency response and other high priority government missions. Anteon also provides many of its government clients with the systems analysis, integration and program management skills necessary to manage the development and operations of their mission critical systems.

Zerco Systems International, Inc., headquartered in Brookfield, Ohio, is a developer and integrator of optical memory card technology and biometric-based identification and data storage solutions. The core component of the Companys technology is its patented, fully-integrated, secure, multi-technology, multi-functionality, small footprint and scalable, point-of-contact terminal. Zercos technologies are used for digital governance applications such as immigration, border crossing visa, cargo manifests, multi-biometric identification cards and other digital read/write card applications.
