1stBooks to Exhibit at Southern Festival of Books

1stBooks Authors and Tennessee Natives Charles Castellaw, Jacqueline Tepper, Raye Ann Greenbaum and Carl Smith to host book signings at popular book fair

BLOOMINGTON, IN (PRWEB) October 4, 2003 -- 1stBooks, the leading new breed publisher and author services company utilizing print-on-demand technology, announced today that the company will participate as an exhibitor at the Southern Festival of Books Conference. Robert McCormack, president of 1stBooks, made the announcement.

Held from October 10 -- 12, 2003 at the War Memorial Plaza in Nashville, Tennessee, the Southern Festival of Books is one of the top 20 publishing events in the country. At this years conference, 1stBooks will join four of its local Tennessee authors, from its ever-increasing library of 16,000 authors, including Charles Castellaw, Jacqueline Tepper, Raye Ann Greenbaum and Carl Smith, all of whom will host book signings at the event.

1stBooks author Charles Castellaw will autograph copies of his new book The Way It Was. An autobiographical account of his life in rural Tennessee during the Great Depression, The Way It Was tells the story of Castellaws youth growing up in bitter poverty in a tight-knit community through his time spent as a WWII soldier on the European front.

Co-authors Jacqueline Tepper and Raye Ann Greenbaum will sign Stretch and Kvetch, a hilarious new book that presents a tongue-and-cheek approach to fitness. Why go to the gym when you can invite a few friends over for Mah Jong? Why lift weights when you can lift a grandchild? Stretch and Kvetch may not raise your target heart rate, but it will lower your blood pressure and strengthen your smile muscles!

1stBooks author Carl Smith will autograph his gripping military novel, Fringe Patriots. After surviving a loveless and abusive childhood, the books central character Clay Smith thinks he has finally found acceptance and respect in the military as the driver and aide-de-camp to Colonel Essex. However, tragedy strikes, leaving him vulnerable to the colonels own self-serving plans.

The Southern Festival of Books is an annual three-day celebration that brings together more than 200 authors, 100 exhibitors and a host of local celebrities. More than 30,000 visitors are expected to attend the festival.
