Dalai Lama supports WMD for global telco peace project
On WorldMessageDay, the extra SMS & MMS messages of love, peace & friendship from cell phones will be 'votes' calling on world leaders to end child starvation. Network operators are invited to support WMD by donating their increase in messaging revenue on the day to a charity of their choice that helps feed starving children.
The Dalai Lama likes WMD, as does Queen Elizabeth and Presidents such as Chirac and Mbeki. Visit http://www.worldmessageday.org and help send the world a message!
Twenty years ago 45,000 people starved to death every day. Today about 24,000 people will die and as you read this, a child under 5 starves to death every 4.8 seconds.
WorldMessageDay is the world's 1st global petition, calling on world leaders to end child starvation.
On 1st May 2004 the extra SMS & MMS messages of love, peace & friendship sent from cell/mobile phones will be 'votes' calling on world leaders to end child starvation. Telcos can participate free of charge and as they only donate the increase in their messaging revenue on the one day, they will stand to profit from this project by increasing the penetration and usage of SMS and MMS messaging.
