The application was built using the Intrexx CRM Studio platform that offers a great deal of easy to use click and create" functionality using Active Server Pages (ASP) when developing web-based applications.

We looked at various CRM applications including Salesforce.com, Salesnet.com and SalesLogix. Some of these applications were client/server and some were web-based but with the level of customization that we typically perform on any internal application, no off the shelf products seemed to offer a completely customizable solution," said a company spokesperson, and because of this lack of customization we decided to venture out on our own and develop an internal CRM application that would give us more control over the source code behind the program."

gxCRM will enable Synapse SEs mobile workforce to connect to the application via the Internet from anywhere in the world and includes integrated account and contact management functions, multiple search functions, activity scheduling functions, sales opportunity tracking and completed transaction functions and a document library that hosts all of Synapse SEs internal documentation needed by its mobile workforce.

The whole purpose behind this application is to give our staff members the flexibility they need in order to perform their jobs adequately from anywhere in the world. You just cant seem to get that level of flexibility in a client/server environment without investing a significant amount of revenue to deliver those applications over the web. In this case it just made more sense to develop and deploy a fully customizable, web-based application," said a company spokesperson.
