Palm Beach Area, FL (PRWEB) October 6 2003-- This November, S.O.S. Doctors, Inc. will launch an after hours in-home medical service with the goal of alleviating overcrowded hospital emergency rooms and significantly reducing costs to the growing number of uninsured residents.

Palm Beach Area residents will soon be able to receive after hours medical care in the comfort of their own homes. Long emergency room wait times and large hospital bills could be a thing of the past. S.O.S Doctors, Inc. will provide this cost effective and convenient service beginning in November 2003.

The service will operate seven days per week, while most general practitioners offices are closed. On weekdays, services will be available from 7 PM to 7 AM. Twenty-four hour service will be available on weekends.

Those in need of medical attention during those hours will call the toll-free line and qualified medical intake coordinators will assess the patients level of emergency. S.O.S. Doctors, Inc. is equipped to handle all levels of emergency care. However, serious emergencies like trauma or full-blown heart attack would be referred to 911.

Lack of medical insurance has long been known to be a problem in America. In April of 2003, The Palm Beach Post reported that more than 41 million Americans are without medical insurance. Of that number, 2.9 million are from Florida. This means Florida has one of the countrys highest uninsured rates at 17.5%.

Given these statistics, a significant percentage of local residents cannot afford proper medical care. According to Dr. Bruno Lambourg, founder of S.O.S. Doctors, Inc., Medical care is a basic right. We at S.O.S Doctors, Inc. want to give people access to minor emergency services without having to worry about bills in the thousands and waiting three to four hours at a time."

Residents will be able to have an in-home doctor visit for $250 on weekdays and $275 on weekends. S.O.S. Doctors, Inc offers memberships for a moderate yearly fee of $150. Members are entitled to 20% discounts on in-home visits, pay only $35 doctors office visits for those individuals that do not already have a primary care physician and receive 20-30% off medications.

Memberships are a viable solution to uninsured individuals and families who use emergency rooms as their primary source of medical care; small businesses that cannot afford to provide insurance to employees; and individuals between the ages of 55 and 64. According to a Testimony before the Senate Finance Committee, individuals between the ages of 55 and 64 are more likely to face serious health problems than younger individuals, yet they do not qualify for Medicare.
