On-Board Data Systems of Montreal and and I&A Research of StSauveur Quebec, have signed an agreement to integrate the new OBDS MFB Multi-Function Flightdeck Browser with Canaux Focus Content-subscription management technology.
This synergy will allow EFB users and specifically, OBDS MFB users to manage subscriptions to source documents directly from the source and have them updated in a wireless environment as a continual differential background process. OEMs can use OBDS Focus servers in order to automatically stage documents for distribution.
The MFB technology makes it possible to synchronize data between PC and EFBs in the field.
USB memory devices are also supported for manual updates.
According to T. Murray President of OBDS, the new MFBserver-based approach is the first practical method for the secure fleet-wide distribution of operational documents, crew training, FAA-FITS programs, and courseware in general to both EFBs and authorized Flightcrew PCs. Security video monitors and any other feeds relavent to the operation are also ideal candidates for MFB display.
