WANDER WEAR (TM) T-SHIRTS HELP KEEP KIDS IN SIGHT
New Clothing Together with Companys Parent Locator Tags Help Avoid and Minimize the Impact of Accidental Wandering
Wander Wear launches special new clothing line aimed at helping parents more easily spot their children in crowded places. T-shirts now available that are bright colored and feature the company's mascot, Whizzly.
ASHLAND, MA (PRWEB) October 9, 2003 --- Wander Wear Inc. (www.wander-wear.com), a mom-run child safety company, today launched a new product line of brightly colored t-shirts which enable parents, caregivers, or security personnel to more quickly and easily spot a wandering or lost child in a crowded venue such as a mall, sporting event, amusement park, airport, or fair.
The new clothing products join the Wander Wear parent locator tags which clip on or inside a childs clothing and provide a place to write a cell phone number on the back of the tag to enable another adult to call the lost childs parent or caregiver. The Ts, in combination with the tags, provide another simple and affordable way to help families reunite should their child accidentally wander away and get lost.
The issue of accidental wandering is much more common then most parents would like to think.
According to an October 2002 US Department of Justice report*, over 573,000 kids are temporarily lost for more than 1 hour from their caretakers each year -- equal to over 1,500 kids per day. The report also concludes that of all the children that are reported missing, 43% are
lost accidentally, versus 12% who are intentionally abducted. *
The new Wander Wear t-shirts were inspired by common advice from leading experts in child safety such as the Center for Missing and Exploited Children that recommends the use of bright colored clothing when visiting crowded venues such as amusement parks.
If a child wanders away, a bright, unique colored piece of clothing can help a parent or caregiver more easily spot the child in a crowded area. If the child is lost, the unique clothing will then help identify them more easily as the distressed parent can specify exactly what the child was wearing having consciously dressed their child in that specific shirt for the day. The shirts then also help people looking for the missing child, since they know to look for a bright Wander Wear t-shirt.
Wander Wear President Jen Tuttelman commented, As simple as clothing can be, it can play a key role in the safety of your child. Both tags and Ts are affordable and easy-to-use ways to give you more peace of mind when visiting busy places with active children. "
The new bright lemon yellow or lime green t-shirts are made from high quality 100% pre-shrunk cotton. On the front, they feature Whizzly, the kid-lovable Wander Wear mascot who captures the spirit of kids always on the go and whizzing" around! Though easy spotting is the top priority of the Ts design for the parents and caregivers, the kids who tested the products also saw them as fun and something they would like to wear all the time ... not just on an outing.
Both Wander Wear tags and Ts can be purchased online or from the retailers noted on the Wander Wear site www.wander-wear.com. The new Ts will retail for $12.99 and the tags are available for $3.99.
