Prevent a Bite! GET INSIGHT!

Is your family dog wonderful with the children? Is he really loving the kind of interaction he receives with the kids or is he tolerating it? Knowing the difference can really set everyone up for a successful and happy lifelong bond!

Jennifer Shryock is a Canine behavior consultant in Cary, NC. With a degree in Special Education and a background in showing and handling dogs Jennifer combined her passion with her academic knowledge to create a unique niche for herself. As the Mother of three young children Jen knows how hectic a household can be. Along with three children she and her husband have two rescued German Shepherds, three cats and usually a rescue foster dog or cats. While actively volunteering with local rescues Jennifer noticed a pattern that became very frustrating to her. "Dogs and children were constantly being put in situations inviting them to fail. This usually led to families feeling they needed to re home their canine family member." It was then that she decided to head back to school to make Canine behavior her lifelong dedication and career. Jennifer combines her experiences and knowledge about both canine behavior and Child behavior and development to create unique workshops for expecting couples and families. Jen often is invited at local organization to discuss safe kid & k9 interaction. Educating is what I love to do. Finding effective ways to communicate a lifelong lesson is my goal. No presentation is quite the same. I really try to focus on each individual group."     Jennifer also currently is an instructor for a classroom online as well as a monthly guest on a radio program called Wednesday in the Dog House on WNJC Philadelphia PA.
Please come on out to the Cary Library to meet Jennifer! It takes a small bit of information to make a difference sometimes. Family Paws knows that it is through education we can help keep kids and their k9 companions safe for a lifelong supply of wagging tails and happy faces!
