Innovative Enterprise File Surveillance Solution launched

Network Utilities (Systems) today announced the UK release of DynaComm i:scan 3.0, the enterprise file surveillance solution.

Network Utilities (PRWEB) October 11, 2003
i:scan 3.0, the enterprise file surveillance solution. "For organisations
that are concerned about the legal liabilities of peer-to-peer file sharing
that is taking place within their network, or worried about the risks of
intellectual property theft, this new release of DynaComm i:scan provides a
uniquely effective solution." said Michele Lewington, Managing Director of
Network Utilities.

It includes significant new features that enable administrators to manage
content across the enterprise from a single user interface. DynaComm i:scan
is able to automatically sweep a network and log the presence of such things
as P2P or IM client applications, hacking tools and offensive content. The
product can also track sensitive or proprietary information.

Once located, these files can be logged, reports can be run automatically
and delivered via e-mail, and the files or applications themselves can be
quarantined, deleted or rendered inaccessible.

DynaComm i:scan version 3.0 is also capable of deploying a secure Real-Time
Monitor to further enhance control of file and application access remotely
from the console. This monitor can allow, deny or log access to individual
files, or entire directories, based on who the user is, and it can even
generate real-time e-mail alerts to warn if sensitive or confidential files
are accessed or if hacking tools or other applications are activated.

  • is a major step forward in content security within the enterprise
because - instead of simply watching for protocol-based activity - DynaComm
i:scan can target the offending applications or the copyrighted material
itself, enabling an administrator to set file attributes dynamically from
the console in addition to logging and reporting on access." said Michele
Lewington.

"Security moves beyond just perimeter defences, with this file surveillance
technology, and it really enters the corporate network itself, where the
critical assets reside. This is the first time that organisations can
actually manage the full extent of their internal data-space in a secure
way. There is now a real-time, secure file and application management
capability available to organisations of all sizes."

DynaComm i:scan has been developed by FutureSoft Inc, whose products are
supplied and supported in the UK by Network Utilities. This unique set of
products manages Internet access and e-mail traffic and performs internal,
file surveillance activities while providing organisations with a reliable
and cost-effective method to manage content across the enterprise.
