CheckDNC.com Service Provides Feedback That Employees Are Complying with the FTC Do-Not-Call Regulations

CheckDNC.com verifies employees are looking-up telephone numbers against the National Do-Not-Call Registry and other Company-Specific Lists, helping small businesses document compliance with the FTC Do-Not-Call Requirements.

Brooklyn, MI (PRWEB) October 11, 2003 -- Above Technologies, Inc. announces CheckDNC (http://www.checkdnc.com), a service to help small businesses comply with the Do-Not-Call requirements set forth by the FTC. This web-based service provides employees with verification indicating that they checked telephone numbers against the National Do-Not-Call Registry, their company-specific Do-Not-Call List as well as their companys "Client List".

"While the FTC requirements sound simple -- unless you have an existing relationship, do not call a phone number if it is on a Do-Not-Call List -- the implementation for a small business is anything but simple," said Ross Towbin, President, Above Technologies, Inc. Businesses are required to maintain their own company-specific local Do-Not-Call List, maintain client lists indicating when the client was last contacted as well as observe the National Do-Not-Call Registry. These lists have to be accessible by each employee; they have to be easily cross-referenced against the companys client list, and, in some cases, have to be updated within 24-hours. These lists also have to be safeguarded in such a way that an employee does not treat the Do-Not-Call List has his or her "latest prospect list" -- something strictly forbidden by the FTC.

"While there are some implementations available to comply with the FTC Do-Not-Call regulations, these are intended for large telemarketing organizations with automated telemarketing equipment", Towbin added, "Our service is specifically designed for the small business that manually dials each phone number, offering a cost-effective, easy-to-use solution that takes away many of the headaches small business owners face when complying with the FTC regulations."

The CheckDNC.com service provides an "OK" or "Do Not Call" response as well as a Verification ID for each phone number entered. The business owner or other designated supervisor may enter this Verification ID back into the service at a later date to confirm what number was "looked up", which employee "looked it up", and when. Since the service is web-based, each employee with Internet access, even if in a different physical location, has access to the same lists. The company-specific lists are easily updated by employees and managers.

While the owner of the company or other designated supervisor needs access to the company-specific Do-Not-Call or Client lists should the FTC request them, "regular" users do not have direct access to either the National or the Company-Specific Lists. "Other than my broker, I am the only agent that can see the my clients phone numbers", says Sharlene Rader, REALTOR with Approved Realty, Jackson, Michigan, "Plus my broker does not have to 'take my word that I looked up phone numbers when I made calls from my home."

Above Technologies, Inc. is a small business providing Internet and Computer Services, including consulting, database programming and web hosting.
