(PRWEB) October 11, 2003 -- Expressions From Wanda is a very unique collection and is a must read for everyone, Christians and Non-Christians alike. Her poetry has no boundaries, it knows no color, or race and isn’t limited by any denominational titles. Just open your hearts and minds and receive.

Charlotte, North Carolina, Wanda M. R. Garrett a Christian Poet releases her first self-published collection of poetry entitled, “EXPRESSIONS FROM WANDA.” In plain language and from real life experiences. Every poem is powerful and thought provoking. Expressions From Wanda is a collection of poems from a variety of topics. There is a poem called “Women,” that will cause all women to rethink what has gone wrong in the marriage. Are you the woman he married? What changes have taken placed since that day you said, “I do?” God has a solution to put marriages back together. Wives must give the man back the authority as head of the household. God has blessed the man with that position. We as women must accept it and pray for our husbands to take back their role. Another poem talks about how words can cut us on the inside and how we bleed from these wounds during our life time. God can heal those wounds caused by insensitive and negative words spoken to us by a loved one, or a friend.

Mrs. Garrett has performed her poetry in churches around the Charlotte area. She performed two pieces entitled “Cries In The Night, and Freedom,” at the African-American Writer/Poets Literary Arts Review I, at the Afro-American Cultural Center, Charlotte, NC, November 2002. “Tis The Season,” was performed at the Columbia Literary Arts Review, in December 2002, Columbia, SC. The poem “Freedom” is also published in a chapbook called, “The Strength of Sisterly Love.” Mrs. Garrett has three poems in an Anthology called, Eternal Portraits Series published by, “The International Library of Poetry” in the summer of 2003. The name of these poems are entitled, “Why, Life, and Look Into My Eyes.” She was also a regular performer at the Urban Poet Society in 2000 in Charlotte, NC. Mrs. Garrett is a board member of the Charlotte African American Writers/Poets Group. She is co-author of a pilot novel called, “Show A Little Love,” to be published in the fall of 2003. She is currently working on her second collection called, “Poetic Expressions From The Soul.” Hopefully to be published in the spring of 2004
