iQvolution Surpasses 1,000,000 Square Meters of Facility Laser Scanning

iQvolution Surpasses 1,000,000 Square Meters of Facility Laser Scanning with Largest Single Order from BMW Leipzig Boosts Totals

PHILADELPHIA, PA (PRWEB) October 11, 2003 -- iQvolution, Inc., a leader in 3D laser scanners for As-Built capture and analysis of existing and new facilities, today announced they have surpassed 1,000,000 square meters of Laser Scanning in 2003. The completion of iQvolutions largest single order from BMW provided the additional square meters.

iQvolution received a substantial real virtuality order from the BMW-Plant in Leipzig, Germany. The order involved using iQvolutions Laser Scanning technology to scan 400,000 square meters of the new BMW Plant in Leipzig. It encompassed the 3D-Laser Scanning and 3D-Modeling of the Body Shop, Paint Shop, Final Assembly, Logistic Centres, production halls, and selected sections of the Central Office Building. The project further solidifies iQvolutions place in the automotive market.

We are pleased about this important order from BMW AG. The Leipzig Plant is an ideal model case for the new Real Virtuality Technique of iQvolution, since BMW has selected this plant to be the pilot plant for future 3D-Factory Planning methodology," said Dr. Bernd Becker, CEO of iQvolution. For iQvolution, this project in an important milestone that expands earlier successful projects with AUDI, Volkswagen, DaimlerChrysler and BMW Group. We are confident, that this project will help to establish and further expand the Real Virtuality Technology."

iQvolution has used unique technology to scan various leading automotive facilities, such as BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, DaimlerChrysler and Nissan. Currently in the process of scanning are BMW, Daimler Chrysler, Siemens, and Mann+Hummel facilities that will total about 700,000 square meters. The automotive facility scanning projects have firmly established iQvolution as market leader in 3D Laser Scanning Technology.

To date, iQvolution has captured more than 1,400,000 square meters of factory floor information and is in progress of increasing their total to 1,800,000 square meters overall.
