UPTA is the best combined audition in the United States for professional actors and production personnel. It is a set of auditions and interviews organized for actors, production personnel, and producers so that the greatest number of quality actors and production personnel who are available year-round can be seen by quality professional theatre companies. We strive to create the most diverse combined audition in the United States.

It is a set of auditions and interviews organized for actors, production personnel, and producers so that the greatest number of quality actors and production personnel who are available year-round can be seen by quality professional theatre companies. We strive to create the most diverse combined audition in the United States.
For actors and production personnel, the auditions will provide access to professional companies who offer:
•paid year-round employment, OR
•paid job-in employment, OR
•paid internships
For theatres and production companies, the auditions will provide access to actors who will be:
•available for employment YEAR-ROUND!
•auditioning in a proper theatre atmosphere -- onstage at Playhouse on the Square
It will also provide companies access to production personnel who are available year-round
Criteria for our Actors and Production Personnel are as follows:
Pre-Professional Auditions (on Saturday, February 7, 2004)
•Actor must receive UNDERGRADUATE degree (BA, BFA, etc.) in theatre by 9/1/04, AND
•Actor must be available for work year-round (in other words, not going back to school in the Fall or Spring), AND
•Actor must have registration signed by the department head of their theatre program.
Regular Auditions (on all three days)
•Actor must be available for work year-round (in other words, not going back to school in the Fall or Spring), AND
•Actor must have a POST-GRADUATE degree (MA, MFA, Ph.D., etc.) in theatre by 9/1/04, OR
•Have registration signed by a registered 2003 or 2004 UPTA theatre, OR
•Have registration signed by a current Theatre Communications Group (TCG) member theatre, OR
•Have attended previous UPTAs, OR
•Be a member of Equity or EMC program.
Production Interviews (on Saturday, February 7, 2004)
•Production personnel must be available for work year-round (in other words, not going back to school in the Fall or Spring), AND
•Production personnel must have an UNDERGRADUATE degree (BA, BFA, etc.) in their respective technical, administrative, or artistic field by 9/1/04, OR
•Have registration signed by a registered 2003 or 2004 UPTA theatre, OR
•Have registration signed by a current Theatre Communications Group (TCG) member theatre, OR
•Have attended previous UPTAs, OR
•Be an Equity stage manager.
