WHAT CAN $25,000 MEAN TO AN EMERGING BAND?

(Los Angeles CA)- To the 40 bands competing in LAMusicScenes Battle of the Fans (www.battleofthefans.com) contest in Los Angeles, $25,000 could mean a lot. The promotion driven contest gives area music fans a chance to help their favorite local act win up to $25,000 in cash.

Battle of the Fans will take place at The Knitting Factory (7021 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, CA). Preliminary rounds are on Mondays and Tuesdays, from October 6-28. Semi-finalists will perform November 10 and 11, and winners will be announced December 12 at the last show. Tickets are $10.00.

The bands are not the only ones winning. Fans can register to a win a Gibson-Epiphone Guitar and Marshal Mini Stack sponsored by Mannys Music (7360 Sunset Blvd. Hollywood). Fans can fill out entry forms online, at the store or at the shows. The drawing will be held December 12, the last night of the contest, at The Knitting Factory.

TLAMS Entertainment Services, an artist management and development company that boast LAs largest volunteer community music scene site, created and organized Battle of the Fans. The company has recently launched similar sites in NY and Texas. Seth Schwartz, founder of TLAMS,

said artists were chosen to compete, based on their talent, work ethic and commitment to their projects. However, actual judging is based solely on ticket sales and walkup ballots, leaving contestants to rely on fan loyalty, self-promotion and good PR skills to win.

These 40 bands are some of the most dedicated bands in LA working to build their fan base and develop their careers" says Schwartz.

Although, this years event is underway, artists and bands from anywhere in the United States can compete for next years rounds. Artists can visit the web site at www.battleofthefans.com, print out an Intent to Play form, and mail it in. Schwartz says TLAMS has plans to expand the event into markets around the U.S.
