Duvessa Software Offers Free Educational Licenses to Major Educational Institutions

Universities and educational institutions for higher education select Estimate Easy UC as a teaching tool to emphasize value of estimation early in the lifecycle

LEESPORT, PA (PRWEB) Oct 14, 2003 – Duvessa Software, a leading provider of use case estimation tools, today announced a special program for educational institutions. Estimate Easy UC (EEUC), Duvessa's flagship use case estimation tool is now available for use in the classroom.

Many major higher educational institutions have shown an interest in using EEUC to teach their students about use case estimation methods and its effectiveness in producing estimates early in the software development lifecycle.

Software estimation has played a major role in the curriculum of software engineering and computer science programs. Until now, there were no tools available for educational institutions to teach use case estimation. Duvessa has made that possible. Fred Rahmanian, President and Chief Technology Officer at Duvessa believes that "Teaching students software estimation techniques early in the lifecycle will give students the skills they need to be better analysts and developers in the real world." He says, "Students often don't realize the impact a good estimate has on the outcome of a project. Estimations are often conducted late in the lifecycle, and this has led to failed projects. It's a lesson they learn the hard way."

Educational licenses are available for the duration of the class. Instructors may contact Duvessa at info@duvessa.com to request a special educational license. The instructor must agree to provide feedback to Duvessa. Fran Bierman, Communications Director at Duvessa says "Duvessa is committed to enhancing and growing EEUC. We feel one of the best ways to do this is to collect feedback from our users. Educational institutions are in a unique position to do this because they often have research projects which address a wider audience with varying skills and interests."
