"Topless Dancing" author plays Las Vegas
Virgin Megastore Las Vegas hosts Susan Shelley, author of "The 37th Amendment: A Novel" and "How the First Amendment Came to Protect Topless Dancing," for book signing on 10-15-03 from 4-8 p.m.
Virgin Megastore Las Vegas will host a book signing event on Wednesday, October 15, from 4-8 p.m. featuring Susan Shelley, author of the legal thriller, "The 37th Amendment."
The novel tells the story of a man caught up in a murder trial, forty years after the 37th Amendment has removed "due process of law" from the U.S. Constitution.
Set in Los Angeles and Las Vegas in the year 2056, the story follows the characters on a trip to the Las Vegas Strip for the "Elvis Centennial," where they stay in an oversized replica of Graceland and tour a Colonial Williamsburg Hotel and Casino known for its robot cockfights and stunning (though historically inaccurate) witch-burnings.
The book also includes an appendix on "How the First Amendment Came to Protect Topless Dancing," a startling history of controversial Supreme Court decisions.
"The 37th Amendment" can be read online at http://www.The37thAmendment.com.
Virgin Megastore is located in The Forum Shops At Caesar's, 3500 Las Vegas Blvd. South, in Las Vegas. The telephone number is 702-696-7100. Signed and personalized copies of "The 37th Amendment" can be ordered by telephone prior to the event.
