Writers Notes Annual Book Awards
Fast-growing Internet resource site - www.WritersNotes.com - announces Writers Notes Annual Book Awards for early 2004.
In a month dedicated to books and reading, Writers Notes Magazine, an extension of the international free resource tool at www.WritersNotes.com, will begin recognizing excellence in publishing with the Writers Notes Annual Book Awards.
"We're a free resource tool for readers and writers, so we kept the entrance fee very, very low compared to most judging forums," says senior editor Christopher Klim, author of the highly praised novel Jesus Lives in Trenton and Everything Burns, as well as the breakout manual on the craft Write to Publish.
"A panel ranging from artist to business professionals will seek relevance and saliency in ten distinct categories," says Klim. "We plan to feature the winners in our premiere magazine issue, which will be freely distributed throughout the Internet. The potential international exposure for the finalists is enormous."
The Writers Notes Annual Book Awards deadline is January 16, 2004, and awards will be determined by March 31, 2004 in time for the convention season. A top prize of $100 will be awarded in ten categories: Art, General Fiction, Commercial Fiction, Childrens, Young Adult, Culture, Business, Reference, Home, Health/Self-Help, Legacy. (visit www.WritersNotes.com for details.)
"We also have some unique categories, such as 'Legacy'," says WN's publisher. "These are books over 2 years of age that hold particular relevance. Unlike major trade mags, we think good books last more than a single shelf season, which often amounts to 3 weeks."
Awards are open to academic, independent, small press, and self-published books that were released or copyrighted in the last 2 years. (Books over 2 years, enter 'Legacy' catetory.) For each entry, submit the book, entry form, and $35 fee (check or money order) to Hopewell Publications, LLC, PO Box 11, Titusville, NJ 08560.
