WIRELESS GAME AND APPLICATION PRE-CERTIFICATION AND IN-PROCESS TESTING SERVICES LAUNCHED BY JBI TESTING LABS

JBI Localization, Inc. has introduced a new precertifiction testing service for software developrs aiming at the burgeoning wireless game and application market. In order to come to market software developers often must meet rigid certifiction standards imposed for wireless development platforms such as Qualcomm's BREW and Sun Microystems J2ME. JBI Testing Lab aids developers at various stages of their projects and determines the readiness of their projects for readiness for certification.

CANOGA PARK, California, (PRWEB) October 19, 2003 -- JBI Testing Labs, a division of JBI Localization, Inc., has extended its game and application testing services to developers creating product for the wireless device market, it was announced today by Eliane Barthélémy, president of the Canoga Park, California localization and technology services firm.

JBI Localization, long a one-stop resource for foreign language versions of games and applications, in-house voice-over recording, and graphics/multimedia integration, opened its testing labs in 2001, providing functional online, linguistic and hardware testing of games and applications on consoles and PCs.

The promise of wireless has arrived," Barthélémy said. The increasing availability of high-speed wireless data makes it possible to run extremely powerful and sophisticated programs and games on wireless devices such as cell phones, PDAs and Pocket PCs. There are incredible opportunities for developers using such platforms as Qualcomms BREW and Suns J2ME.

Certification testing protects customers from inferior products and applications as well as supports the integrity of the respective software development platforms," she said. JBI Testing Labs can confirm the readiness of products for certification testing in just a couple of days, saving time, effort and expense for developers."

JBI Testing Labs services include guaranteed True BREW pre-certification testing; J2ME pre-certification testing; testing of international versions; platform testing (all); porting from handset-to-handset and from BREW to J2ME, and full localization of games and applications in Asian and European languages. The company also provides in-process testing of products at various stages of their development.

JBIs wireless testing services are an extremely valuable resource for developers trying to penetrate the wireless market," said Michael Cartabiano, president of Sennary Interactive, developer of many top-selling games. No one else is addressing the pre-certification testing issue, so in offering its new services, JBI satisfies a major unfulfilled need. Companies will be able to get product to market faster and with fewer complications."

The Advanced BREW Pre-Certification Guaranty Plan includes two testers for two days for functional, network and multiplayer testing. If the game/application subsequently fails to receive the NSTL certification, it is retested free of charge. A similar J2ME Pre-Certification Guaranty Plan will be available pending implementation of the Unified Testing Process. Meanwhile JBI continues to test against Motorola, Nokia and other certification lists.

Based in Los Angeles San Fernando Valley, JBI Localization has provided a full array of localization and related services since the mid-1970s, serving such clients as Activision, Disney Interactive Games, IBM, LucasArts, Microsoft, THQ, and others.
