PRSA-LAS PRISM AWARDS SPOTLIGHT THE MAGIC OF PR" ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2003
KNBC-TV ANCHOR DAVID CRUZ NAMED MASTER OF CEREMONIES FOR PRSA-LAS ANNUAL AWARDS EVENT IN BEVERLY HILLS
-The Los Angeles Chapter of Public Relations Society of America (PRSA-LA) announced today it will host its Annual PRism Awards on Thursday, November 6. The dinner and awards presentation will be held at the Le Meridien Hotel in Beverly Hills. KNBC anchor David Cruz will serve as master of ceremonies for the event. David Cruz co-anchors "The Mid Day Report" at 11 a.m. and the "Channel 4 News" at 11:30 a.m., with Kelly Mack. He also serves as a special assignment reporter for the weekday editions of the "Channel 4 News" at 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Major sponsors of the 2003 PRism Awards include: Gold Sponsors- Burson Marsteller, BusinessWire, Golin/Harris and Valencia, Perez & Echeveste PR; and Silver Sponsor- Kaiser Permanente. The events programming is being produced by Cal State Dominguez Hills-PRSSA Chapter along with Toro Images Communications. As the premiere Southern California public relations awards program, the PRism Awards will honor several local, exemplary PR professionals with special awards including: Outstanding Professional of the Year," which will be given to Rhoda Weiss, APR, and Fellow PRSA; Outstanding Corporate Citizen," which will be given to Jack Shakely, President of California Community Foundation; The Joseph Roos Community Award," which will go to Bill Imada, Chairman and CEO of IW Group Inc.
Other PRism awards to be handed out at the event consist of winners from more than 34 categories, including crisis communications, public service, writing excellence, ethnic/multicultural programs, entertainment, computers, software and the Internet.
