Personal Finance Column Created for Ethnic Press
Noting that most new arrivals to the United States often rely on ethnic" newspapers to learn the ways of their new country and that financial issues are generally an area in which they sorely need knowledge, Wall St. writer Joseph Finora has launched a new column.
Financial Fundamentals is being written with the needs of those new to this country in mind. It will cover such areas as: retirement planning, health and life insurance, college funding, long-term care insurance, credit, mortgages, estate planning and basic tax, investment and business information.
Im really looking forward to this," says Finora, a former vice president of the Foreign Press Association. Were going to be explaining something thats uniquely American --basic personal finance -- to an audience that sorely needs it."
Finora, who recently authored the article, Writing for the Ethnic Press," for The Writer magazine, has been contributing to such publications for over 10 years. His ethnic press credits include: The Albanian-American Newspaper, The Greek-American, Turkish Times, Macedonian Tribune, The Jewish Week, The Irish Echo and Vista -- a Hispanic monthly. He also covered the United Nations for about 10 years for various publications.
Im hoping that this column will open the eyes of financial services companies as well. Each year millions come to this country and often open small businesses but they lack financial expertise. Its a great market that deserves to be served."
Editors interested in the column can e-mail him at: finoraj@hotmail.com.
