PORTLAND, Ore. (PRWEB) October 20, 2003 -- Boisseau FilmWorks announces the November 18 nationwide release of the first two episodes in a new feel-good dramedy" video series for girls, The Missy Files. The episodes, Adventure at Sun Rock Ranch" and Changes in the Wind," as well as the series, star Harleigh Jean Upton as Missy and co-star Maylo McCaslin-Aames, Harleighs mother on and off-screen. From the producers of the blockbuster success the Bibleman Adventure video series and live tour, The Missy Files is sure to be the next smash hit in entertainment for children and young teens.
In Adventure at Sun Rock Ranch," Missy, a fashionable, articulate thirteen-year-old, embraces the beauty of the wilderness and the quaintness of ranch life while on vacation with her parents and her friend, Anita. Unfortunately for Missy, the bliss is cut short when she accidentally leaves a gate unlocked and a small calf escapes into the thick brush and canyons that surrounds the acreage. Taking her usual control of the situation, Missy convinces herself and Anita to venture out on their own to bring the calf back, leading the girls to becoming lost in the nighttime wilderness. After being found by one of the ranch hands and spending what becomes an adventurous evening in the untamed outdoors, Missy and Anita are able to return the calf to its mother and bring home their experiences to their friends.
In Changes in the Wind," Missy tries her best to befriend Jaque Joseph, a new girl in the neighborhood. Jaque rejects Missys efforts, letting Missy and her friends know that she is above" hanging out with them. A determined Missy knows there is something deeper and launches a full campaign to make Jaque feel welcome and comfortable in her new town. After a series of defeated efforts, Missy and her friends come up with a masterful plan; theyll throw a bowling party in Jaques honor. When Missy accidentally drops the ball on Jaques foot and breaks it, it seems like all is lost. Ironically though, through what appears to be a tragedy, Jaque opens up and reveals that shes really been covering up the pain she feels as a result of moving and leaving all of her old friends. Missy and Jaque soon forgive one another and forge what will certainly be a lifelong friendship.
Missy Shannon is part Cyndi Lauper, part Anne of Green Gables," said Writer, Director and Senior Executive Vice President Willie Aames, best known for his starring roles on Eight Is Enough," Charles in Charge" and the Bibleman Adventure. Missy is a freckle faced combination of the overly dramatic, a dry wit, deep introspection, self made style, and the determination to pull them all together. She is the heroine that todays girl can appreciate."
Adventure at Sun Rock Ranch" and Changes in the Wind" were written, directed and produced by Willie Aames. Both videos will be distributed by Crossroads Marketing and CNI Distribution.
