Experience the XGames in downtown Sacramento at the Veterans Day Parade.

Sacramento, CA --November 8 2003-- Rolling forward and backward at full speed on the front wheel with no hands. Spinning on one wheel at speeds up to 30mph. Gliding with the grace of a figure skater. Its no wonder sports officials agree BMX flatland is the toughest form of bicycle riding and one of the most skill intensive sports in the world today". The BMX Flatlanders Organization will be at the downtown Sacramento Holiday parade to introduce one of the worlds most extreme sports to those who are unfamiliar with it.

The parade starts at 11:00am November 8, 2003 on the corner of 15th and N st. The parade heads up N st to 10th where we go all the way around the State Capital Park where it finishes on the corner of L st. and 15th. After the parade the BMX Flatlanders Organization will be available at the assembly area on O st. for about 30 minutes after the parade ends for brief question and answer for all who are interested in obtaining information about our organization or the sport.

Featured rider Rick De Laney a local flatland pro has been seen on television in commercials for Ace Hardware and Mountain Dew as well as several nationally and internationally published magazines. Most recently Rick was interviewed by Deidre Fitzpatrick on KCRA channel 3 news for his participation in this years Memorial day parade.

BMX flatland freestyle came out of the 80's BMX scene and has grown from who does the longest wheelie to stringing several different one wheel tricks into a non stop routine that can last a couple of minutes or longer. This form of bicycle riding does not require any ramps or special equipment other than a BMX bicycle with axel pegs making it fairly inexpensive to get into. Also being a fairly portable , outside needing an empty flat area to ride in, this form of personal expression is the perfect medium to add to television commercials, videos and film. Recently BMX flatland freestyle has been featured in several television commercials for such companies as Mountain Dew and Burger King as well as music videos from Lil' Bow Wow and Nosey.

The BMX Flatlanders Organization focuses on promoting the sport of BMX flatland to a wider audience within northern California. Promotions consist of demos, shows, parades and commercial work. With members ranging from beginner to professionals all are welcome to join our organization.
