Minnesota Author writes Chilling Tale of Terror
Anathema is the story of one man's fight against an ancient evil.
Frederick, MD. October 20, 2003--PublishAmerica is pleased to announce the release of ANATHEMA (ISBN: 1-4137-0356-9), by David E. Greske
Inspired by a dream, ANATHEMA is the story of Jim Anderson attempting to save his failing marriage by moving his family from California to the rural town of Prairie Rest, Wisconsin. In the beginning things seem to be working out. Then it all goes bad. Very bad. Very fast. The mysterious death of his young son, Travis, triggers a chain of events that consumes the rest of his family and threatens the entire village.
Befriended by Jarvis Clark, one of the Town Elders, he tells Jim that his arrival has awakened an evil existing within the earth. Convinced by Jarvis that he is also one of The Chosen, Jim reluctantly joins Jarvis and the other Elders to fight the ancient evil.
In a cave on Anderson's property, The Elders, armed with the weapons of the Lord and things they'd taken from the hardware store, prepare to make their stand. But can something older than time really be destroyed?
The author says, "I wanted to write a story that got away from psychological horror, or didn't deal with vampires. I think those genres are somewhat overdone. I wanted my evil to be something you could touch and see and smell. I wanted the menace to be different and I believe ANATHEMA accomplishes this."
Filled with vivid descriptions and surreal images, ANATHEMA will surely cause a few sleepless nights.
