Four-Star Football Film
Finding Nationwide Audience Through
Web & Word-Of-Mouth
A low-budget film has beat the winner of Sundance to take the top prize at two Film Festivals. A nationwide broadcast on ESPN and a deal to distribute the film in every BlockBuster Video in America led to a 4 star review by USA TODAY and a article by the Los Angles Times which called it
"one of the best sports documentaries ever made". And it was all made by two unknown filmmakers both with newborn children on borrowed money in their spare time.
"THE LAST GAME" is a feature film made by two unknown filmmakers with borrowed money. Yet, the film has garnered praise from serious critics, earning four stars from USA TODAY's film critic Mike Clark and the distinction of being called "one of the best sports documentaries ever made" by the Los Angeles Times. The film beat the winner of Sundance to take top prize at the Sonoma Film Festival, and earned another prize at the Houston World Fest. The film was picked up for nationwide broadcast by ESPN and now is available on DVD and video via the film's website- www.TheLastGame.com
In January, the film will be available nationwide at BlockBuster Video stores and other retail outlets through Image Entertainment. Like all special films with no marketing budget, THE LAST GAME has developed an audience through word-of-mouth, positive critical reviews and a presence on the Web. Time will tell if this movie finds a place amongst the greatest sports movies of all time.
