‘Ruines of the Future'has been received with great interest by the international Art World as well the Art Press.

This exhibition brings together nine (virtual) installations of the leading contemporary artists of the 21st century. Anish Kapoor(India); Mario Merz (Italy), Niele Toroni (Italy) Claes Oldenburg (USA) Christo (Bulgaria) Thomas Hirschhorn (Switzerland), Jeff Koons (USA), Joseph Kosuth (USA) and Richard Long (England)

The sites are big stone ovens marked in the landscape as ruins.

Hundreds of enthusiastic art lovers, galleries and museums from all round the globe congratulated the curator, asked for more information, planning a trip or went to Arequipa, Peru. Reviews and articles were released on famous artsites like ArtNet, Artforum, Furtherfield, Rhizome, NY Artsmagazine and even the editor of the Los Angeles Times send out a delegation to visit the site Arequipa.

'Ruins of the future' is a complete virtual exhibition by Pierre Mertens on the internet as it was located in Peru.

Contextual artist Pierre Mertens (1953, Antwerp, Belgium) conceived the concept and asked Marjan van Mourik to join him as a curator using the Internet context for this art project. The sponsor is also the artist in the skin of Pierre Mertens real estate, a virtual company selling all museums worldwide.
