Allen City Council officially allocated the park site to The Cancer Monument Inc., on September 9, 2003. The Cancer Monument and the non-profit organization for which it is named are the vision of founding President Michelle Miller, cancer survivor and Allen resident. Once completed, the monument will be donated to the City of Allen.
Thanks to everyone at the City of Allen, it is now possible to have The Cancer Monument", states Miller. The next huge step towards building the monument rests with the public.
