AUTHOR OF THE DAISY PATCH INVOLVED IN REAL WEST NILE MYSTERY
Peggy Williams is now involved in solving mystery of West Nile infected mosquitoes
Peggy Williams, author of The Daisy Patch, fast paced medical mystery that came out in August of 2003, has been involved in solving the problem of how her medical consultant, Matthew Connolly, contracted a virulent form of West Nile Virus. Dr. Connolly, an Olney, Maryland Cardiologist and long time friend of Ms. Williams, was airlifted from the local suburban hospital where he is an attending physician to the Washington Hospital Center where the disease was diagnosed and treated. The illness kept him from his practice from the end of August to mid-October.
West Nile Virus can be deadly for some people and appears as a relatively light case of flu to others. And the mystery here is how he got it in the first place." Ms. Williams told this reporter. They have been going back through the week preceding his illness to see exactly where the mosquitoes that carry the disease came from.
From her home in Silver Spring, Maryland, Ms. Johnson is quoted, Matt was instrumental in helping me keep my character, Kurt Van Doren, medically correct in the mystery which has been a popular seller on the Amazon and Barnes and Nobel websites. I really hoped we could find the water or puddle that would yield up more of these infected mosquitoes and clear them out. However, since the first frost has hit Olney, MD, everyone in this area is out of danger for now."
