New York, N.Y. - October 20, 2003 -- For the fifth consecutive year, SBLI USA Mutual Life Insurance Company, Inc. is a flagship sponsor and participant in the American Cancer Societys (ACS) Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" Walk. The five-kilometer walk was held on October 19th at the Woodbury Commons Premium Outlets in the Hudson Valley, New York to raise money for ACS breast cancer research.

(PRWEB) October 23, 2003 --- For the fifth consecutive year, SBLI USA Mutual Life Insurance Company, Inc. is a flagship sponsor and participant in the American Cancer Societys (ACS) Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" Walk. The five-kilometer walk was held on October 19th at the Woodbury Commons Premium Outlets in the Hudson Valley, New York to raise money for ACS breast cancer research.

Approximately 400 SBLI USA associates and their family members and friends signed up to participate in the event. Donations are used by the ACS for research, education, advocacy, and patient service programs to help defeat the disease. According to the ACS, breast cancer will strike nearly 200,000 times this year and claim more than 40,000 lives -- 3,000 in New York alone.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer began in 1993. Since its launch, funds raised have helped the American Cancer Society to dedicate $2.5 billion for scientific research, funding 32 Nobel Prize winning scientists who are dedicated to finding a cure.
