BROADJAM.COM AND GOODNIGHT KISS BRIDGE THE ONLINE MUSIC GAP
These are exciting times for longtime Hollywood film music company Goodnight Kiss, and leading online music management service Broadjam.com, as they affiliate for an innovative music project launch on October 24, 2003.
October 24, 2003 (PRWEB) October 24, 2003 --
Celebrate the free part of the web again. Any songwriter, artist, or musician who comes through the Goodnight Kiss Music site, is granted the access to upload eight original music works, as well as easily build a cutting-edge music webpage, through Broadjam.com, for no cost.
Goodnight Kiss publishes songs for Film and TV, produce tasty CDs, publish hip books and an online newsletter about the realities of the music business. They also connect songwriters, musicians and artists to useful and effective music resources -- usually free resources.
Broadjam.com provides future-type technology to access and specialized services for showing ones music works on the Internet. Broajam.com gives the ability to do things like pitch a quick song request to a music supervisor, or cowrite and exchange improvements, even for an Internet novice. Associated writers and artists can simply refer contacts to their own link with pictures, booking information, and samples of material as selected by the artist.
For me, this affiliation has awesome potential in how much work I might listen to and track," says Goodnight Kiss Music owner, Janet Fisher. For example, when I have a quick call for a song from the industry, I simply send a Goodnight Kiss Music List email, and the writer/artist can submit appropriate material online. We can review it online, offer contracts online, then pitch it online ourselves, or ask that a master copy be sent in the case of a producer request or if we license it for one of our album releases. Our free yearly song and music contests will be much easier to enter, and will save a lot of CD costs and postage for all."
Goodnight Kiss Music pays standard mechanical record licensing on their label releases, as well as depends on offline, "real world" broadcast money from the performances of their work. Broadjam.com does not yet offer a royalty license for one presenting ones own work online, but does offer, in exchange for that, the consideration of the website, music storage, access, the option to remove ones materials from the site upon written notice, and useful services and software offerings that make organizing music on and offline much more convenient for the artist/writer.
We are also planning to launch a Goodnight Kiss Top Ten page, courtesy, again of Broadjam.coms technology, that perhaps files or posts some sort of cue sheet, and pays some sort of industry-standard royalty, once we see what the response may be, so we know how to base the license. This would be a giant leap forward for us, as writers and musicians who really need any earnings our work might bring us on a regular basis."
The letters and testimonials at the sites and newsletter archives seem to love both companies. Let's hope they can bridge the gap.
