STI co-Sponsors Local Students to Wire Orlandos Convention Center

Students from Sussex County Technical School will be traveling to Orlando this December to demonstrate their Network Wiring and Cabling skills in ACTE's inagural Cabling Lab. Over 7,000 attendees expected to observe the event.

In order to show their continued support for the career training technology programs being taught in todays schools, C-Tech, a leading developer and manufacturer of training aids and curriculum, and Specified Technologies Inc., a leading Firestop manufacturer, will be co-sponsoring students from the Sussex County Technical School, Sparta, NJ as they travel to Orlando to participate in the Association for Career and Technical Educations Cabling Lab at this years Tech Expo.

These students will be demonstrating the skills learned in C-Techs programs to wire the lab for communications networks with both Copper and Fiber Optic cables. STI has teamed with C-Tech as a Program Recognizer and is an avid supporter of the technology training that C-Tech is providing to secondary/post-secondary educational institutions, private training schools, US Job Corps Centers and other training facilities across the country.

We have chosen to support Sussex Tech and the ACTE because it is important that educators get an inside look into the hands-on training that is being taught in our schools. The ACTE Cabling Lab is an innovative approach to demonstrating the in-demand and important skills that students are receiving through programs such as C-Techs," according to Raymond J. Bruno, Vice President of Marketing. Additionally, STI will be supporting the event with donated products. It is very important to maintain and promote the relationship between Industry and Education."

Ken Lowenstein, C-Techs Director of Marketing, is working closely with the ACTE to ensure the success of the event. As the sponsor of the Cabling Lab we reached out, and received, support from our industry partners," explains Lowenstein. Our biggest challenge has been figuring out how to get students to Orlando to work in the lab. STIs financial support is a big help."

We saw this as a great opportunity to show our support for ACTE, our partner C-Tech and the students who are being given a once in a lifetime chance to show off their skills," shares Bruno. STI is excited to be to able to lend a hand."
