GeckoSystems Inc. Debuts SecurityBot Platform at Atlanta Computer Show

CONYERS, GA (PRWEB) October 23, 2003 - GeckoSystems Inc., a leading developer of mobile robot solutions, debuted their SecurityBot platform to spectators attending the Atlanta Area Computer Show at the Cobb County Civic Center. We wanted to prove that a mobile security robot could mingle" with high traffic crowds, and autonomously patrol, navigate, and broadcast live video surveillance all at the same time," said Martin Spencer, President and CEO of GeckoSystems, Inc.

GeckoSystems is completing the final stages for delivering a mobile service robot (MSR) platform to Law Enforcement & Security Agencies faced with increasing Homeland Security budget constraints across Municipal Airports, Waterworks, Power Plants, and Port Authorities. I was impressed to actually see a robot designed for active duty," said Gary Bachman, show attendee, and Vietnam veteran. Watching the SecurityBot patrol continuously at the show for over eight hours, without a break was impressive," he added.

When released (early Q1 2004) the SecurityBot will be able to carry 150 lbs of security equipment ranging from infrared cameras, VOC detectors (hazardous materials), and biometric readers on its six-foot tall aluminum frame. The companys GeckoBrain artificial intelligence software will handle the real-time autonomous navigation tasks required for unassisted path planning and patrolling in dynamic environments.

It was exciting to see peoples reaction and readiness to accept the idea that robots can provide a whole new level of exciting applications," said Fred Ahmadi, President of Narisaam, Inc., and computer show sponsor.

Videos capturing the SecurityBot patrols may be downloaded at the companys website. GeckoSystems is currently accepting applications for their SecurityBot beta test program. Interested parties may contact the company by visiting their website at www.geckosystems.com.
