OCTOBER 23, 2003 -- Brooklyn, NY -- Mungler Winslowe Records has announced November 15, 2003 as the official date for the Brooklyn release party of the new studio album from Crystal Brandt, entitled BESSIE'S LAST STAND. The free event will take place at 8:30 pm at the Blah Blah Lounge in Brooklyn, NY.
The album is named after Crystal's favorite guitar which became damaged beyond repair towards the end of the recording sessions. For the show at Blah Blah, Crystal will perform with her new guitar, which she calls Claudine.
All thirteen tracks on Bessie's Last Stand are written, arranged and produced by Crystal at MW Studios in Brooklyn, NY. In addition to performing all album vocals and guitars, she also plays keyboard, drums, banjo and bass.
"For fans of intelligent, well written and performed acoustic music with a slight country taste, Crystal is a rare find...I am tempted to compare her to a female Bob Dylan who can add a trill as lovely as that of the legendary Emmylou Harris." - Dennis Halsey at The Best Female Musicians
Following the release party, Crystal will embark on a limited concert tour which is slated to begin and end in New York. The shows will feature Crystal alone with her guitar at intimate venues on the east coast, including stops in Boston, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, DC. A complete tour schedule will be available at www.crystalbrandt.com which is updated regularly.
Bessies Last Stand follows Crystal's 2002 debut, Fixing to Break, which she produced and released on her own Sisterluk Records. Originally from Maryland, Crystal Brandt now lives in Brooklyn, NY where she co-founded Mungler Winslowe Records.
