Write Source Communications owner, Ayana Glaze has decided to change the companys name and join the dot com craze as pressreleasesetc.com.
Glaze, a writer and work-at-home mom, said she toyed with the idea of changing the name of her business shortly after discovering that she was pregnant.
My oldest son, D.J., was seven at the time," says Glaze. I was free to do my thing while he was in school. Soon I was going to have to come up with a way to continue to work and take care of a baby. Daycare was not an option."
Once her baby, Cedric came, the entrepreneur says she found that attending meetings and calling on potential clients was difficult without regular daycare. Since she wanted to continue to be at home for her kids, she began to do some soul searching and revamped her business plan.
Finding my place in the business world was a necessity," says Glaze. I had to find a new method of operating. I started reading articles on the entrepreneur.com website and signed up for AOL Small business. These sites and a few others helped make my decision."
Glaze says she placed Write Source on the web at www.iwritevisions.com. She received immediate response from utilizing structured keywords, an online press release promotion and Google Adwords.
It was great," says Glaze. My first week online I wrote press releases for organizations and businesses in New Jersey, California, New York and Canada. I thought, 'I might be on to something here."
Glaze says she stepped outside herself and looked at her freelance portfolio and resume objectively and found that her greatest success had come from writing press releases. She also took note of the kudos she was getting from the subscribers to her daily newsletter, Toast & TIPS, which she created to give daily advice about public relations and publicity.
I saw so clearly. If I was going to be successful as a freelance writer, I was going to have to make the web my bread and butter and make my strongest skill my niche -- hence the name pressreleasesetc.com," says Glaze.
