Another Phoenix is Rising in the Desert!"

--Scottsdale, Arizona, October 27, 2003— Local writer, Jeffrey Hauser, is excited to announce his first published novel, Pursuit of the Phoenix," published by PublishAmerica, Baltimore, Maryland. This adventure combines elements of fantasy and science fiction with a strong central character and an amazing ending that leaves the reader breathless.

In brief summary:

     Avery Bergman has somehow lived to be 150 years old and lies dying in a holler in rural West Virginia. As his family awaits his passing and left alone for only a few minutes, he amazingly vanishes into the winter night. Meanwhile, in New York, four wealthy, elderly men meet to play poker every Thursday evening. The call themselves, The December Club.
     Days later, Bergman reappears in a youthful body as a young man. As rumors of the miraculous transformation reach New York, the ruthless men decide that this mysterious man holds the key to the fountain of youth. With all the money and resources at their disposal, they try to snare the man they nickname the Phoenix."
     A cross-country adventure unfolds as he attempts to elude the Clubs detective. Then, finally, with nowhere to hide, the Phoenix is forced to take a defiant stand against the aging millionaires.

    

  • Hauser was born in New York and raised on the Jersey shore. He came to Scottsdale in 1976. A year later, he wrote, illustrated, and self-published a book on houseplants. Jeff dedicated his novel to his wife of 29 years who died in 2003 and whos early years growing up in West Virginia inspired the tale. He began writing in1990 and has since completed four novels and is writing a fifth. All have varied plots and international locales with interesting characters and strange twists on reality.

  • is currently employed as an advertising sales consultant for DexMedia in Mesa where he has worked for 22 years. A true Renaissance man, he invents, writes, plays several instruments, paints, sculpts, is a gourmet cook and enjoys reading science and fiction. His daughter, Jessica, is a sophomore at Scottsdale Community College.
     Presently, he is planning several book signings in the Phoenix area and is available for interviews. He is used to public speaking before small and large groups.
