(PRWEB) October 28, 2003 -- Founder and Executive Director, Susan Fraser of Home Caregivers Accreditation Of America, LLC (HCAOA), the national accrediting service provider to non-medical in home care agencies, will be internet radio interviewed Nov. 1, 2003 during the 3-5 p.m. PST, segment of Coping with Caregiving. Jacqueline Marcell will interview Ms. Fraser from her San Diego studio.

This radio interview will be broadcast live for all interested parties via wsRadio.com Web site, http://www.wsradio.com/CopingWithCaregiving. It may be necessary to go to the Web site to download and install any necessary audio software prior to this broadcast. The broadcast will be archived and available after the interview.

Home Caregivers Accreditation Of America is setting a standard for the new and growing field of non-medical in home companion care, offering seniors and their families security. Working in the industry these last few years has been an eye opener for Ms. Fraser. Agencies who are not "doing it right" can put a senior in harm's way.

The standards are straightforward, agencies must have liability insurance, dishonesty bond or surety bond, worker's compensation insurance for their care giving employees and a business license where required. If agencies follow these standards, they are more often than not, conscientious, and care about their company, employees and seniors.
Seniors and their families should ask about background checks, and even drug testing and fingerprinting. The least expensive care giving agencies may not be a bargain at all. Companies that pay employees cash, or file a 1099 form, put the responsibility on seniors and their families to pay the taxes for that "employee." And, they may have to resort to their homeowners insurance for accidents.

Agencies who "do it right" can find it difficult to compete in a uneven market place. This service has been available to home care agencies and seniors nationwide since April 2003.
