Livin In The Promised Land contains ten tracks, including eight new songs written by Chinnock. The record also includes covers of "Mystery Train" by Sam Phillips and "Motherless Child," by Harry Thacker Burleigh, a Civil War era hymn. The title song is a tribute to the men and women who safeguard our freedom. Recorded live in the studio, the new album brings together long time band-mates Tony Thunder Smith on drums, John Kumnick on bass and Harry King on keyboards. From the haunting Kings Of The Highway to the gospel -tinged Still Dreamin Of You , the album is a complete musical statement from this award-winning singer songwriter.
In a recent interview, Bill said: "I think the whole album is really a celebration of American music and all of the different influences I've had in my life; from the Jersey Shore to the time I spent touring with blues artists like Albert King and James Cotton, to my work with Harold Bradley in Nashville. My music has always been a synthesis of American music styles. I think that with this record, everything has come together. This album is really a return to my roots."

Nashville Producer Harold Bradley said Bill reminds me of Roy Orbison, and Buddy Holly because he is a musical pioneer. Bills musical talents have been recognized with an Emmy Award for composition. In addition to his critically acclaimed nine albums, he has recorded a duet with Roberta Flack ( Hold on to Love ) and his music has been featured internationally. Kenny Neal recently recorded Bills song Blues fallin Down Like Rain as his title cut on Telarc.
