New Car Raffle & Silent Auction of Great Prizes Will Help Kids Who Need Medical Care
OCTOBER 29, 2003, St. Louis, Missouri... A new Volkswagen convertible will be among the showcase fundraising items at the fourth annual "Bountiful Harvest" benefit for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Friday, November 14 at Casa Loma Ballroom in St. Louis, hosted by the Debbie and Kevin Gorman family.
WIL 92.3 FM Radio on-air personality Lynn Stewart will be mistress of ceremonies at "Bountiful Harvest," which will offer a multi-course dinner, live music, dancing and silent auctions of valuable prizes, including diamond jewelry and luxury trips. All proceeds will benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Debbie Gorman, whose family organizes "Bountiful Harvest" annually, says, "We are big supporters of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and truly admire the fantastic work they do for kids with critical illnesses."
"Our goal is to raise $100,000 this year," says Gorman. The hospital absorbs all costs not covered by insurance for treatment of critically ill children and families without insurance are never asked to pay."
"This will be a fun evening of dinner and entertainment. Pasta House Company Chairman J. Kim Tucci will be celebrity auctioneer. Julius Williams and his Motown band will entertain late into the night. We will have lots of surprises. Its all for a great cause," Gorman says.
"Bountiful Harvest" auction items will include a deluxe evening for two featuring a diamond pendant and earrings, chauffeur-driven limo and dinner at Tony's; a Walt Disney Princess TV-DVD-karaoke play package with porcelain dolls of memorable Disney characters; a luxury weekend for two in Chicago, including airfare and hotel; four "club seat" tickets to a St. Louis Blues game at Savvis Center; and other valuable goodies.
Tickets to "Bountiful Harvest" are $35 each and can be reserved by calling 314.812.0382. Tables for 10 people are $350. A portion of each ticket price is tax-deductible. Raffle tickets for the 2003 midnight blue Volkswagen convertible are $100 each - only 450 raffle tickets will be sold. Cash, check, MasterCard or Visa are accepted for advance ticket sales. No tickets will be available at the door. Casa Loma Ballroom is at 3354 Iowa Street.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, based in Memphis with facilities in St. Louis at 1830 Craig Park Court, is one of the world's premier centers for research and treatment of catastrophic diseases in children, primarily pediatric cancers.
About 4,300 patients are seen at St. Jude yearly, most of whom are treated on a continuing outpatient basis as part of ongoing research programs. The hospital also maintains 56 beds for patients requiring hospitalization during treatment.
