Portland Consultants Offer Alternative to Denvers Initiative 101 Requiring the City to Reduce Society-Wide Stress

While the citizens of Denver, CO are seeking the help of their government to reduce stress [AP – August 12, 2003, Denver to Vote on Stress Reduction", anyone else can look to consultants Sid Smith and Elaine Helle to help them handle the daily stresses of life in a much more effective and fun way.

Portland, OR (PRWEB) October 29, 2003 - While the citizens of Denver, CO are seeking the help of their government to reduce stress [AP – August 12, 2003, Denver to Vote on Stress Reduction], anyone else can look to consultants Sid Smith and Elaine Helle to help them handle the daily stresses of life in a much more effective and fun way.

"The question I get most often during my 'Zen of Leapfrog' workshop on cultivating a positive attitude is, 'How do I stop worrying so much,'" says Smith. "Everyone has too much to do and not enough time to do it, so they naturally feel worried and stressed. I believe that anyone can cultivate a positive attitude. Although we sometimes treat optimism as if its a four letter word, we've all got a natural ability to lighten up, laugh and bounce back with great resilience."

Elaine Helle, Certified Laughter Leader and President of Laugh for the Health of It, and Sid Smith, a life and business coach who calls himself the Chief Attitude Adjuster, are no strangers to stress relief. As independent consultants and trainers working in Oregons depressed economy, they've seen their fair share of worried or stressed-out clients. They have also worked with people who want to take personal control of their lives and move ahead with passion and imagination, spirit and soul.

Helle offers her clients ample opportunities for laughter and play in her Laugh for the Health of It workshops. Sessions include expeditions into toy boxes and interactive skip-the-jokes-laugh-out-loud exercises to power up energy, connection. creativity and counteract the effects of stress.

"Of course, if we took what we know about the psychological and physiological benefits of laughing and bottled it, we would need FDA approval," says Helle with a smile. "What worries me is someone will find a way to tax the energy active laughter produces."

Whether youre stressed out with too much to do, worried about your future, or hanging out in a negative work environment that seems more 19th century sweatshop than 21st century innovative, it seems you have a choice, according to Helle and Smith.

You can move to Denver and hope that your city government can help you feel better, or you can take responsibility for your own attitude about life, even if that means hiring a coach to help you. Smith and Helle suggest you do the latter, and they promise that they'll show you how with a smile.

Smith is a certified professional coach, holds a Masters in Counseling/Psychology, and is still smiling after 20-plus years as a corporate professional. He helps people get it done and have fun through one-on-one coaching and workshops.

Elaine Helle gets people energized internationally. She is a Certified Laughter Leader and Laughter Yoga Facilitator, bringing the Laugh for the Health of It Laughter Club to the workplace.

Play and laughter power up peoples energy, creativity, connection and health for a fun and productive workplace.
