Teletrol Participates In Highly Successful Fourth Annual BACnet Interoperability Workshop

Manchester, New Hampshire (PRWEB) October 31, 2003 -- Teletrol Systems Inc., an industry leader in building automation technology, participated in the fourth annual BACnet Testing Laboratories (BTL) Interoperability Workshop held September 16-18, 2003 in Seattle, Washington. Sponsored by the BACnet Manufacturers Association (BMA) the workshop is open to all companies with products that implement BACnet.
Teletrol attended this year's three-day session to test its newly released application specific controller in a controlled environment with other BACnet devices. Teletrol engineers were able to test the interoperability of individual hardware products with other workshop participants in the five functional areas of data sharing, alarming, scheduling, trending and device management. The body of data collected from this worskhop on interoperability issues will be used not only to improve testing procedures, but also to provide implementation guidelines for product design engineers which will ultimately result in better products.
BACnet (Building Automation Control Network) is an ASHRAE and ANSI standard protocol for achieving interoperability in building systems and was developed with the cooperation of nearly every major manufacturer of building automation and controls.
