Lok Technology, Inc. a provider of secure, open, and ultra thin-client trusted computing appliances, today announced the industrys first open-systems 802.11 infrastructure appliance. All AirLok appliance models provide secure and dynamic capabilities integrated by specific user authentication. These include:

*Access Control-establishes the integrated user and role database for billing (credit cards, instant use tokens, time paid for, time of day limitations) and authentication.

*Stateful Firewall-applies traffic filters by IP address range to roles.

*Intrusion Detection System-senses anomalous events and dynamically modifies the firewall.

*Packet Capture-stores all packets in searchable format for review and diagnostics.

*SSL Proxy-delivers standard web applications and sites securely over the wireless network.

*Transparent Web Cache-implicitly caches all web traffic to reduce uplink bandwidth consumption/latency and improve end-user experience; support for streaming media.

*Bandwidth Manager-limits bandwidth consumption and prioritizes traffic using class-based queuing by role; random-early-detect (RED) congestion control optimizes throughput.

*Network Address Translation-allows numerous users to use a single uplink trunk address.

*Routing-manages outbound traffic dynamically by role over public or private physical networks.

*Network Administration-provides an integrated web application with a rich feature set to manage the AirLok and monitor your Wi-Fi network.

The AirLok appliance creates a SSL VPN environment that allows for an unprecedented record number of simultaneous users. The AirLok Model 700 supports 50,000 simultaneous users with 3Tb of cache; Model 500 supports 10,000 users with 1Tb of cache; and, Model 300 supports up to 100 users with 40Gb of cache. Model 700 has capacity to manage over 10 million customer accounts or 500 million instant access tokens.

The AirLok appliance delivers SSL encryption to provide secure connectivity and access for all users. With a hardened OpenBSD operating system as its foundation, the AirLok appliance has the most secure operating system in the world.

The AirLok appliance is endpoint (access point, laptop, PDA) neutral to provide open systems interoperability.

The AirLok appliance uses an exo-kernel architecture that significantly shapes and enhances the functional and operating experience on a per user basis. Role based control shapes each aspect of the user experience -- bandwidth management, packet capture and routing, as well as the more typical access control.

Most importantly, the AirLok is an Appliance. The AirLok appliance possesses the advantages of the appliance format, including reduced complexity, avoidance of software installation, plug and play" implementation and enhanced ease of use.

The AirLok appliances are currently available for order. (To read about the AirLok Model 500 streaming video in New York Citys Tompkins Square and near T1 connectivity performance levels in an upscale Coral Gables Condominium complex, please go to www.air-lok.com)
